Please note that the Avera Health Plans Virtual Visits app is exclusively for Avera Health Plans and DAKOTACARE health insurance members who are aged 2 and above. By utilizing this app, you can conveniently address a range of minor ailments such as flu or cold symptoms, headaches, diarrhea, acid reflux, seasonal allergies, sinus infections, among others.

To determine your specific virtual visit benefit, we recommend reviewing your Summary of Benefits document. However, it's important to note that members on High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP), catastrophic plans, or Medicare Supplement plans are not eligible for the complimentary urgent care virtual visits. Instead, these visits are available at a cost of $64 per visit (with some limitations applying).

It's worth mentioning that according to IRS Guidelines, members with HSA-eligible plans may be subject to tax penalties if they utilize the free virtual visit service. However, if you have an HSA-eligible plan, you do have the option to utilize your HSA or Flex spending funds to cover the cost of this service.
